Rain, Rain, Go Away!
It is April 22, but the weather here in Michigan is closer to November 22. It's been cold, rainy, and just plain dreary! With a closet full of brand new spring clothes that I can't wait to break in, it is extremely frustrating that I'm having to stick to jeans and sweaters so I don't freeze my butt off in school. On the rare days it reaches 60, I've been going out of my comfort zone and wearing what I consider to be actually fashionable outfits, at least compared to the rest of the people in my school. Sometimes people make snide comments about my outfit choices, but honestly who cares! If I think it looks good, then to me that is what matters.
I'm hoping this weather goes away by next Saturday, because that is the day of my high schools prom! I'm trying not to have high expectations for the night, but I tried on my dress last night and I felt like a fairy tale princess. Instantly, I got extremely excited. Isn't amazing the way clothes can alter our moods so much? I love it!

Gotta love a deal!
So, I was bad today. After a very stressful week full of tests and drama and dreary weather, I have been feeling down and not myself. So today after work, I went on a little shopping spree in an attempt to make myself feel better. Although it worked, I basically spent my paycheck that I just got today. Oh well! I had one of those shopping experiences when you find everything you're looking for and afterwards you're completely satisfied with everything you bought! Of course I stopped by J. Crew (who's clearance is all an additional 30% off today by the way) and got a tank top and a bracelet for a grand total of $22! I was so proud of my thrifty finds! I also got a great pair of linen-ish shorts from Aerie for $12 that will be perfect for school. Although I spent all my money, I felt completely rejuvinated after my little excursion.
Also, is it just me or are a lot more people wearing pearl earrings lately? I've noticed a considerable increase in girls at my school with them, and while I appreciate the prepster coming out in everyone, it's making my everyday pearl earrings seem less special! I hate when I have something that I bought because I liked it, not because it's a trend and then it becomes super popular. The same thing happened when I bought a pair of TOMS. I thought they were adoreable and bought a bear and BAM two weeks later it seemed every girl in my school had them. It makes me want to wear them less.
On one more note, I am furious with my boyfriends dog. I literally just bought a pair of Steve Madden black patent flats, basically the perfect goes-with-anything-i-wear-them-everyday shoe, and the darn dog chewed one of them up. His mom offered to pay for them, but still, I was pissed. RIP black flats. Gone so young...

Opening Day...again
I love Polyvore, but I can't figure out how to upload my outfits with text! I have explanations for all of them, but they make it impossible for me to post them together! It's driving me crazy! Well anyways, yesterday was opening day here in Detroit. I hate baseball games personally, I think they're boring and hot and full of drunk people. Ironically though, I'm going to the game today with my prom date. At least it won't be 80 degrees in the park and it was an excuse to create an outfit! It's nothing special but I think it would be super cute for a baseball date in early summer.
On a completely unrelated note, I painted my room over my spring break! Instead of lounging in tropical paradise and getting tan, I got covered in "Buttercream" paint. Although it was a lot of work I love it now and I cant wait to organize my closet.

Obsessed
Today my family went on quite the shopping excursion! I acquired a pair of basic black flats, a pair of wedges, a J Crew tank, a blue blazer, and a bunch of other lovely items. One thing I hate about shopping though is finding something I love, but knowing I could never afford it! There's this dress from J Crew that I'm literally obsessed with...but its $89, on sale. I tried it on today and it's literally perfect! I plan on stalking the website until it goes on sale.
